Tourmaline has the richest color variation among the classic gemstone families. It appears in all colors of a rainbow, and it often happens that several shades of color are displayed within one specimen. It is also worth knowing that the different colored versions of tourmaline are known by different names, similar to the different colored stones of other classic stone families. The orange and brown varieties are called dravite. This specimen is actually on the border between yellow Canary tourmaline and dravite, but due to its slight brownish-orange hue, we prefer to classify it as the latter. From Mozambique, one of the richest current deposits of tourmaline, comes this beautiful, pear-cut, 2.05 Ct dravite with an interesting shade.
