The color of Kyanite, also known as distene, is traditionally some shade of blue, but since its discovery, other colored versions have been appearing more and more often. A green or banded green-blue version was discovered at the Brazilian site, and an orange version was discovered in Tanzania. Most recently, bright yellow kyanite appeared in Madagascar. This beautiful and clear 1.55 Ct emerald cut orange specimen is from Tanzania and it is one of the rarest varieties of Kyanite. This size looks good even in a collection.
