Originally, when we think of prehnite, we see a vaguely pastel green stone, although it occurs in many variations, from colorless to yellow through various pale shades of green. Since it is not completely transparent due to its crystal structure, it has a more opal appearance, so it is mostly polished in a convex shape, but sometimes, if it is transparent enough, it can also be faceted, but this is quite rare. This 2.16 ct Madagascar specimen is rare not only because it is faceted, in this case it has an emerald cut, but also because it is not the classic pastel green color, but bright yellow, which is quite a rare shade of prehnite.
