Well, you won't find this stone in most collections either, faceted olmiites are so rare. Although poldervaartite and olmiite are two separate minerals, they are so similar in appearance, location, and refractive index that it is easier to talk about them with a hyphen than to destroy such a curiosity with a destructive test just to gain certainty about which stone we encountered. . By the way, there is another mineral pair that is defined in the same way, and this is the londonite/rhodizite pair. Due to its pale color change and brighter color, this beautiful size, 2.75 ct Namibian, fancy-octagon-cut specimen is perhaps closer to olmiite. In the middle of the table, you can discover the central, columnar crystal shape, which is a slightly brighter color than its surroundings. Peach in daylight, orange in lamplight. If you're lucky enough, maybe once every ten years you'll come across a faceted specimen.
