Beryl is one of the large classic gemstone families, which includes, in addition to emerald, aquamarine, morganite, heliodor and golden beryl, some particularly rare collectors' stones. Beryl indulges its fans with its multitude of color variations, and those who are averse to the strong chrome-green color of emeralds can choose a lighter green or yellowish-green version from the family, the heliodor. Its original meaning is: the gift of the sun, which is why many people confuse it with golden beryl, even though the term gift of the sun probably refers to flora, i.e. vegetation in its light green color. This oval cut, 3.21 Ct beauty came from Madagascar and is considerably less ostentatious than its sister, the emerald.
